My art combines elements from both Eastern and Western art.
In Eastern art, the emphasis is on how grand nature is relative to man. I appreciate the expressionistic and simplistic manner in which Eastern art, with utter economy, uses brush strokes to make a statement. I am soothed by the use of negative space in Eastern art. I am constantly portraying scenes of nature with birds, flowers, fish, insects, or landscapes. I try to express elements of nature that are most important to our humanity in this age of electronics and technology.
On the other hand, I am also fascinated by the brililiant colours used in Western art. I also like the definitive and realistic approach to subject matter in Western art. Because I am a product of both Western and Eastern cultures, my art is thus reflective of both.
